First Year

How have I been on the planet for one entire year? It doesn’t seem that long. Mama and Dada say a lot of weird things have happened in this last year, things they have never experienced before. But to me, it’s just been a year that seems to have gone by so fast.

I got to spend a lot of time with Mama and Dada. Mama stayed at home with me for a long time. We spent a lot of time cuddling and eating and playing with my doggies. I love my doggies. They don’t like it when I grab their legs or ears, but they play chase with me and play with my toys with me. Sometimes I chase Dempsey around the house and he barks and it makes me laugh so much.

Mama and Dada took me to see some of the parks in Colorado. We have a lot of parks. We went to Pike’s Peak park with Uncle Phil and Aunt Jaime and my cousins Faith and Abby and Slater. I liked snuggling with them because I was very little when they were here. And then Auntie Amanda and Kai came to visit and we went to Rocky Mountain park, but I slept during most of it.

I got to fly on an airplane to see my cousins in Michigan. We had a very fun time. Emma and Madelyn really made me feel special because they love me so much! Emma gave me a giraffe toy that I love to hug.

I got to see a lot of snow this year, there is a lot of snow in Colorado. I even got to see an ice castle. I have been on hikes and Mama takes me on a lot of walks with the doggies. We went to the zoo one time and I really liked the giraffes.

For a little bit of time, Dada and I were in Oklahoma with Grandma Hinkle while Grandpa Hinkle was at the hospital. Mama had to work in Colorado Springs, but she would come visit on the weekends and to drive with us back to Colorado when Uncle Brian could be with Grandma Hinkle. I am very happy Grandpa Hinkle is home now. We didn’t get to see him at the hospital because of the virus. But he and Grandma came to visit me for Grandma’s birthday!

My birthday was very fun! Mumo came from Washington and we had a giant hail storm. Dada used the Egg to make lots of yummy food that I got all over my face. Mama made me cookie cake that was messy and very tasty. I got lots of presents too: trucks and tools and climbing blocks! Mama says I am so loved!

First Day

Hello. My name is Raymond Vincent Hinkle. I was born this morning at 5:06a in Colorado Springs. I made my mom stay up all night - really made things difficult on her - but she is a very tough lady, so she isn’t mad. My skull is a little bumpy and I do have a little bruise on the top of my head, but the doctor says that will go away.

I’m a little guy - only 6 lbs 9 ozs & 19.5” long - but I am eating a lot. I have blonde hair which I get from my great grandpa John Vincent and super-long fingers which I get from my grandpa James Raymond. I have dark blue-grey eyes, but I will probably change that a few times before I get my driver’s license.

I spent most of my first day sleeping, but I also went on a couple of walks with my parents, got some vaccines, did some burps, posed for some pictures and peed on my dad’s shirt when he wasn’t paying attention. I also watched the Seahawks game with my mom, my grandma Mary Jane and my Aunt Kate, but I fell asleep because I got bored - mostly because I didn’t understand what was going on.

I should be going home tomorrow, and I am excited to meet my two doggies and see all of the cool stuff my parents friends bought for me. I am very excited to meet you all.
